Nathan Rose

Background:

Nathan Rose is a 3rd generation educator with deep ties to a classical education, innovative teaching and education practices. Nathan began his teaching early in life as a summer camp counselor teaching swimming and boating courses. As a college student, he continued to follow his passion for education by teaching sailing at CSUS.

Nathan has worked with two charter schools including working to start the Sacramento Charter High School. While at Sac High he wrote the curriculum for new courses such as Stagecraft and Cabinetmaking. He was the creator of the first online classes in the Roseville District and taught the first ever AP Spanish Literature course in Northern California. Nathan has served in various administrative positions, site councils, and most recently as a Career Tech Administrator for the San Juan District. In San Juan, he organized the curriculum alignment between Career Tech and academic classes. Nathan brings an energetic approach to education and hopes to inspire many to help make the John Adams Academy the envy of Northern California and the Nation.

Nathan is very active in Boy Scouts having earned his Eagle Scout. Currently he is a 14 year old Varsity Scout Leader. He loves sailing and swimming. He currently lives in Roseville with his wife and three daughters the oldest of which will be a 2nd grader when John Adams opens in fall 2011.

Education:

Nathan is a California native and local graduate from Placer HS, Sierra College, and CSU Sacramento. He holds an Administrative Credential and three teaching credentials. Nathan has earned his AA in Cabinetmaking, BA in Spanish and Bi-Lingual Education, and MA in Spanish and Education.
